VidCove adds parent-managed, per-child controls to Plex. Connect a Plex server you own or one that friends and family have shared with your Plex account, then assign specific movies or complete TV shows to each child. A younger child can have a small library of familiar favorites while an older child has a broader catalog, even when both libraries draw from the same server.
Children browse and search only the Plex titles already assigned to their profile. Assigning a TV show opens its season and episode browser, while the parent keeps control of which complete shows and movies enter that child’s library.
A signed VidCove child session must be authorized for the assigned item before playback data is returned. The app then selects a reachable Plex connection on the device, so the existing Plex server, network, and remote-playback configuration still handle the media while VidCove applies the family rules.
Premium parents can also build ordered movie collections for movie night or weekend viewing. These collections stay separate for each child and start with a shelf selected by the parent rather than a general streaming catalog.
Plex activity appears in the same parent dashboard as VidCove’s YouTube activity. Premium analytics and the weekly digest add a per-child view of watch time, titles, and interests across both sources, making it easier to review viewing patterns without checking separate histories.
Setup has three steps: create a VidCove family account, connect an accessible Plex server, and assign content to each child. VidCove then presents those approved titles alongside the child’s other approved media while the parent’s normal Plex experience remains unchanged.
VidCove Free includes three assigned Plex movies or TV series for one child. Premium removes the Plex-item limit and adds movie collections and advanced activity features. Plex subscription requirements can still apply to remote playback and other Plex-native features.
