Parental controls on the big screen.

VidCove brings the same approval-first experience from phones, tablets, and the web to the living room. TV apps are available for Android TV and Google TV devices, Amazon Fire TV, and LG smart TVs running webOS. Samsung smart TVs running Tizen coming soon. Children browse with the standard remote that came with the television or streaming device.

Every channel, video, movie, or show a child sees on TV comes from the library their parent approved. The YouTube channel whitelist follows the child across devices, Shorts remain blocked, and the TV does not expose an open recommendation feed that can drift into unrelated content.

Each child uses a PIN-protected profile and sees only that profile’s approved library. This keeps siblings with different ages and interests from accidentally opening one another’s content. Parents manage approvals and profiles from their regular VidCove dashboard, and changes sync to the television automatically.

Getting started is straightforward: install VidCove from the device’s app store, open it on the television, and sign in or pair the appropriate child profile. The TV then stays signed in for that child while parent-only actions remain protected by the family’s controls.

Viewing on the big screen is included in the same family account rather than tracked as a separate household. TV watch activity is added to the weekly parent digest alongside viewing from phones, tablets, and web browsers, giving one history across the screens a child uses.

Families can use the TV app for approved YouTube channels and approved Plex content. The goal is a focused shelf that children can navigate independently, while content selection, profile management, and review stay with the parent.
